ENGADINE COMMUNITY FACILITIES SNAGS ITS OWN MASTERCHEF

Residents of Engadine and visitors to the brand new Engadine Community Facilities are set to be treated to top class food from JK Café & Catering which officially opened on Monday 1st November.

Sutherland Shire Council awarded the contract to provide catering services at the facility to JK Café & Catering earlier this year.

Chef and owner Julie-Ann Kirkland is a graduate from the world renowned Culinary Institute of America and has also worked alongside premier Australian chef Luke Mangan at his fine dining restaurant Glass Brasserie at the Sydney Hilton.

After honing her skills in the US and back home in Sydney, Julie-Ann is ready to treat locals and visitors to her special blend of fresh seasonal café style food as well as a delicious range of menu options and service for weddings, corporate events and musicals in the new facility. 

“We are looking forward to bringing our great food and coffee, not to mention the largest range of Gluten free menu items available in the Sutherland Shire to Engadine,” said Julie-Ann Kirkland.

“It is my home town and I am really passionate about using the skills I have developed both here and in the US to provide high quality, mouth-watering meals,” she said.

In addition, to her CIA degree, Julie-Ann completed an apprenticeship at The Ritz Carlton in Naples, Florida and also has a Bachelor in business administration from Bellarmine University in Louisville, Kentucky.

After spending seven years honing her skills in the US, Julie-Ann travelled back home where she has continued to perfect her techniques and recipes.

JK Café has established a great reputation for great food and coffee and in 2009 was crowned winner Best Café in Sutherland Shire at the Leader Small Business Awards.
